What it's all about is not known, but KJAS Radio News has learned that following an apparent meeting late last week, the Justice of the Peace Courts in Jasper County have decided that they will no longer arraign defendants jailed on warrants signed by the Municipal Judges of Jasper or Kirbyville.
KJAS News was originally told the child drowned in a bathtub. However, Jasper County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Mike Smith says the cause of death hasn't been determined. Judge Smith has ordered an autopsy and says he saw no signs of trauma or injury to the child's body.
