Who Was the Prophet Micah and What Does His Book Teach Us?
Micah is the sixth book of The Twelve. Micah lived in the small town of Moresheth in the southern kingdom of Judah at the same time Isaiah was alive in Jerusalem. The northern and southern kingdoms had split long ago, and both had been violating their covenant with the God of Israel.
Micah was a prophet in the Hebrew Bible, specifically mentioned in the Book of Micah. He is believed to have prophesied during the reigns of Kings Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah of Judah, placing his ministry roughly in the 8th century BCE.
