The Michigan Department of Corrections provides a searchable database for felony offenders called the Offender Tracking Information System (OTIS). You can use the OTIS database at this link: https://mdocweb.state.mi.us/otis2/otis2.aspx

Michigan’s primary statewide search tool is OTIS. It lists prisoners, parolees, probationers, and some recently discharged individuals still within the statutory window.

Interested persons may perform Michigan Department of Corrections Inmate Searches on the OTIS using inmates' names and MDCO Numbers. Typically, each search criteria returns a list of matching records containing details of inmates housed in MDOC's facilities.

Michigan’s inmate lookup systems, primarily the Offender Tracking Information System (OTIS), provide a transparent means for the public to access information about individuals incarcerated within the state’s correctional facilities.

The Offender Tracking Information System (OTIS) contains information about prisoners, parolees, and probationers who are currently under supervision, or who have been discharged but are still within three years of their supervision discharge date.

You cannot find information through OTIS that is exempt under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act for prisoners who have been arrested and convicted but not sentenced.

The state’s Offender Tracking Information System (OTIS) is the official database for people currently or formerly under MDOC supervision. OTIS includes sentenced prisoners, parolees, probationers under MDOC jurisdiction, absconders, and discharges from supervision up to three years.
