May is Older Americans Month, and the Oconee County Senior Center is celebrating with programs designed to support wellness, creativity, connection, and healthy aging.

Oconee County was not created until 1868, after the American Civil War and during the Reconstruction era. It was taken from part of the Pickens District and named after Oconee Town.

In Oconee County, visitors can experience a stagecoach stop and inn from circa 1803 at the Eagle Tavern Museum, explore a rare covered bridge, float down the Oconee River with Oconee Joe, visit a working Clydesdale Farm, stroll through an art gallery and so much more!

Special to The Enterprise Oconee Youth Playhouse will present the musical Footloose, a stage adaptation of the 1984 film starring Kevin Bacon, May 16-17 and 29-31 at the Oconee Youth Theater. The musical features songs from the movie’s Oscar-nominated score plus additional numbers.
