What Is a Visitation or Viewing? A visitation is a scheduled period where family and friends come together to offer condolences, share memories, and provide emotional support to those grieving the loss of a loved one. These gatherings often take place at a funeral home, place of worship, or occasionally a family residence.

Visitation hours are 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., seven days a week. All pre-scheduled remote visitation sessions will begin on the hour and half hour and last 30 minutes long.

While the Video Visitation Center maintains consistent hours, on-site visitation at the Main Jail may be subject to changes on weekends and holidays. Contact Escambia County Jail directly at 850-436-9831 for the most up-to-date information regarding holiday visitation schedules.

The event brought together members of the PADOC Veteran Services Team, representatives from the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, and staff members from the Wilkes-Barre Veterans Affairs Medical Center, who were on site to engage directly with employees and provide information on available veterans’ benefits and support services.

The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (PADOC) is the Pennsylvania state agency that is responsible for the confinement, care, and rehabilitation of approximately 37,000 inmates at state correctional facilities funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
