PAUL, THE APOSTLE (Παῦλος, G4263, Rom. name meaning little; also called Saul, שָׁא֑וּל, Heb. name meaning asked for). A leading figure in the Early Church whose ministry was principally to the Gentiles.
During his ministry he resurrects at least one person from the dead and is resurrected himself after being stoned to death. Paul carries out at least five evangelistic journeys, visits more than 50 cities in his travels and preaches the gospel to Emperor Caesar and his entire household.
The story of Paul is a story of redemption in Jesus Christ and a testimony that no one is beyond the saving grace of the Lord. However, to gain the full measure of the man, we must examine his dark side and what he symbolized before becoming “the Apostle of Grace.”
