Steve is one of the nine default skins players can use in Minecraft, and the first to be introduced. The character originated from Zombie Town, an unreleased game developed by Notch in 2009 prior to Minecraft beginning development, and has frequently appeared in subsequent Minecraft media. Steve is seen most of the time next to Alex, the second introduced character.
