Hueytown is a city in western Jefferson County, Alabama, United States. It is part of the Birmingham metropolitan area, and was part of the heavy industry development in this area in the 20th century.

Referred to initially as Huey and by around 1914 as Hueytown, the area was one of the largest unincorporated communities in Alabama for many years. The first high school opened in 1921, and the football stadium was built with Works Progress Administration labor in 1933; it is still in use today.

Located 14 miles southwest of Birmingham, Alabama is charming Hueytown. The city has a rich history in the coal, steel and farming industries, meaning there’s plenty of historical sites, museums and mills to see on your travels.
